The Regulation as Resistance Healing Circle is a specialized, two-hour trauma-informed community intervention designed specifically for Black women students (ages 18–25) at Howard University. This program addresses the cumulative physiological toll of chronic stress—often referred to as "weathering"—by providing culturally grounded somatic practices to help students regulate their nervous systems and transition out of "survival mode."
In strategic partnership with Vivia Yoga, Aya Inc., and Girls Who Lead, this event bridges the gap between traditional student health models and accessible, embodied wellness. Together, these organizations provide a safe, culturally responsive space where students can build resilience and prioritize long-term wellbeing amidst the pressures of academic and daily life.
